How this works, and what it does not do
The steps are written by hand, one rule at a time, and run on your own device. There is no algebra engine and no AI here, so nothing is guessed: a question either matches a rule this page knows or it gets the honest answer above. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the page works with the network off once you have opened it.
Numbers are kept as exact fractions all the way through, so 0.1 + 0.2 really is 0.3 and a third stays a third instead of becoming 0.333. Where an answer cannot be written exactly, the page says how it was rounded.
Not in here yet: trigonometry, indices with letters, simultaneous equations, sequences, calculus, geometry, statistics and anything with more than one unknown. For those, the AI tutor will talk you through it, or the formula sheet may have what you need.

A free step-by-step maths solver for secondary and lower-secondary work: order of operations, fractions and mixed numbers, percentages including reverse percentages, ratio, linear equations, simultaneous equations, quadratics by factorising or the formula, expanding and factorising brackets, unit and temperature conversions, and model-method word problems. It is a hand-written stepper, not an AI: every step is worked with exact fractions and written in words, and if a question is outside its scope it says so instead of guessing.
