How this works, and what it stores
The checker is Harper (Apache-2.0), compiled to WebAssembly and served from this site, so your text is checked on your own device and never sent anywhere. The first visit downloads it once (about 8 MB compressed) and the offline cache keeps it. It is a rules-based checker: good at spelling, common grammar slips and typos, not a judge of your ideas. The only thing stored is your draft, in this browser, until you press Clear draft.
